The curse of being a government employee is that one has to deal with babus. They are hell bent on destroying the morale of our gallant forces, going about their sinister mission with the devotion of crusaders. Fortunately, by taking the issue to PM the Service Chiefs have taken the babus out of the loop. Now it will be a political decision, almost entirely up to the PM, as he boldly did when he overruled most of FM\CoS dubious agenda of implementing SPC wef 1.7.07 and parking the arrears in provident fund. With the deplorable saga nearing it's end game, there is a small matter that stick out like a sore thumb. The golden silence of our retired brothers who are now MP's is disheartening, to put it no higher. I wish they had displayed at least some concern for the morale of our young affected officers, who compromise around 35% of overall serving officers. Even a token e-mail from them, if not to Sonia Gandhi, at least to Rahul Gandhi would have worked wonders in our struggle for justice. Suffice to say that in this heroic showdown with the babus the Chiefs require support from everyone, in toto. The Service Chiefs have exhibited leadership of the highest kind and one could not have asked for more. For our Chiefs - everything!
What about the travel entitlements like air travel and AC First Class etc. Is it mentioned anywhere in the notification?
Sorry to say but unfortunately we are working ass wise. why didn't we put our foot down on this stupid exercise of cpc without a qualified member from defence forces? these babus will do everything to get us on our knees and beg for what is rightfully ours. Let us demand only one thing. let there be an independent and neutral group of experts who first should calculate how much Govt has to spare for its employees. then divide it equally on percentage basis amongst various organisations and further workout the nitty gritties. let there be one fixed pay scale as per warrant of precedence which should be revised directly linked with inflation and abolish the concept of DA.No anomalies would ever arise after settling the inintial teething problems. atleast after a few years harmony will return to all services and our country will do true progress.
The SCPC had recommended commutation upto 50% of pension with a new commutation factor table, but the notification for post Jan 06 pensioners now shows it as 40% only but with the suggested new commutation factor table accepted. Is there an anomaly in it, or is that the final???
