The MS Branch has rationalised the policy for promotion to the ranks of Col and above in case of LMC officers. The policy has been effected with retrospective effect from Nov 2005.
There has been a change in the criterion of promotion vis-à-vis medical category and employability management index for acting promotion to the ranks of Colonel and above which should be encouraging for many affected officers.
Such affected officers may like to peruse this amended policy issued in the last week of August 2009.

ReplyDeleteIt would not be proper for me to post it here. You may approach the MS Branch for it. It has been circulated so you can also peruse it at your nearest formation.
In case of any queries on this particular issue, you may email me.
Thanks
dear sir ,
ReplyDeleteits a good step in the rt dirn but we may like to know what prompted th change of heart.
as a cynical view its difficult to
believe to believe it was done more out of genuine desire of all round wellbeing and less out of the desire to help a particular person close to the decision makers.
i may be wrong but well i'm a cynicist now

@AK:
ReplyDelete1. The general tone of your post seems to suggest that your intent was to attribute some malafide intention to a good action.
2. Should we question any good action which benefits people, no matter what reason it was taken for? If some one has the power to move hardened hearts, is it wrong?
To quote an Americanism:
"Don't look a gift horse in the mouth".
The idiom came from a time when horses were used for transport, and occasionally gifted. As the common way of estimating a horse's age was to look at its teeth, it was considered rude to inspect the gift too carefully.
Again, if something good has happened for someone, what is the point of trying to find bad in it?
Best regds.

@All
ReplyDeleteThe policy (earlier and new) is a little complex and explaining or trying to explain it may lead to confusion amongst readers. Why don't you simply peruse it at the nearest military unit / fmn ?
