Sainik Rest Houses

Most of our Rajya Sainik Boards maintain Sainik Rest Houses (known by variable nomenclature in different States) for the use of veterans and their families.

These are reasonably good guest houses where all ranks can stay and avail of other facilities. At some places, hiring of lawns for family functions etc is also permissible.

A list of such rest houses on district basis can be accessed and downloaded by clicking here.

  1. Thank you for this very handy information. However there is no arrangement at Delhi which is not only a very important transit stop but which is also being visited by ex-servicemen from time to time in connection with official work at the national capital.I had tried to get accomadation at the transit camp at New Delhi raiway station for a few hours but had to struggle with a lot of red tape as the accomadation is only for serving persons.
    Please provide information about Delhi.

  9. compilation work commendable . How far the staff of rest houses are responsive when approached over phone is debatable. In one of the Naval Foundation meetings came to know about Hyderabad Sainik Rest house's contruction at Somajiguda / Raj Bhavan Road, one / two years back. Location about 5 Kms fro Nampally / 07 Kms from Secunderabad / 10 Kms from Kaceguda R.S & 25 Kms from New Hyderabad Airport . Progress of same not known & I could not even locate the location of construction . Email IDs if made available at some location will be helpful to reach the OI/cs directly .

  31. I recently had visit the new Delhi railway station sainik aram ghar ,i wanted to stay there for 5 hours. their was a bed available and they dint give me that saying its full @0030 hrs and drizzling.
At the same time other army offices came with same rank equivalent to that of mine(IAF), and he was given a bed. When I questioned I was allowed to rest on the sofa available.
If this services are for all the three services then why is this bias.
