In an unfortunate incident, an AMC Major was murdered by a chain-snatcher in Tiruchy when he tried to rescue his wife.
Major R Ramesh was on TD in Tiruchy for recruitment duty. The brave officer came rushing to his wife when he saw the miscreant snatching her jewellery. The officer gave a chase and caught hold of the snatcher who then stabbed him in the throat. Maj Ramesh succumbed to his injuries in a private hospital.
Let us hope local military authorities provide all possible help to the family in dealing with this grave loss.

Condolences to the family. The local Army authorities should take up a case with the civil administration for acknowledging his secrifice.

Sincere Condolences.
only handful of condolences from us wouldn't help..it calls for some serious action at 'some' level..
What a pity - No worthwhile newspaper / media reports of heroics of Army personnel!
While complete media is completely obsessed by coverage for the Bollywood entity who takes time off from fairness creams to make non-worthwhile statements
" my name is khan " / "prez hubby in land scam" are the hot topics for discussions across the nation...who cares for such a incident where no one gets anything and the scene in future too is likely to remain like this or even worse...we should not actually beg condolences in such cases....the truth is that WE ARE HELPLESS/in a THANKLESS country...my sincere condolences however....may god give the family a lot of strength in such commotion!
Deepest condolences.
Dear Maj Navdeep,
I just happen to read about the blog. Appears great service. I took premature retirement in the rank Lt.Col (AMC) in 1986. i had put in 17 yrs 3 months of service at the retirment. I do not draw any pension as at that time minimum service had to be 20 years. Could you educate me if there are any changes or some facilities for retired officers like me. I only have Canteen facilities at present. I shall be grateful if you could reply. With Regards Lt. Col. M.R.Kotwal Ex Medical Specialist.
Our heart felt condolences to the bereaved family.Very unfortunate.
we seem to be more worried about the safety of our people in aus and blame their govt for everything. our own and near and dear ones lives are at threat whenever you move out. Police offrs are hacked to death while the politicians watch dispassionately, army offrs and men are sacrificing their precious lives for an ungrateful nation.
my heart bleeds for the brave offr who laid down his life fighting the enemies within our society. Sincere condolences to the brave heart and his family. May God be by their side.
We officially do not have a regime for royalty. But we have 'King' Khans, 'Big' Bs, 'Junior' B who the nation worships.
Yesterday CNN IBN and also most other media was covering 'The Bollywood star' who seems to have taken time out from his busy schedule for modelling for men's fairness cream and junk food to take up the cause of Pakistani cricketers. It was having an outcry as if the complete dignity of the country was at stake for the 'King' of the country.
Well, where does it have time to cover disposable entities - the Army personnel. I suppose we have to gulp it.
Our heart felt condolences to the bereaved family.
A tribute to this great soldier who like a true Fauji had zero tolerance to crime and nonsence. But Providence was so cruel to the lady of this braveheart...
I feel that there should be some recognition for his bravery, as a consolation to his family.
Deepest condolences.
