Haryana slashes stamp duty for defence personnel by 1 %

The Haryana Govt has slashed stamp duty for serving and retired defence personnel for registration of residential plots, houses or units.

As on date, the rates of stamp duty in the State are 7% and 5% for urban and rural areas respectively. Rates of 6 % and 4% respectively shall be applicable to defence personnel from now onwards.

The benefit can however be availed only once during a person’s lifetime.

The following was stated by the Haryana CM on the subject :

“We have taken this decision as an appreciation for the armed forces personnel as they have sterling qualities of courage, discipline, loyalty and implicit obedience of orders. They are the guardians of safety and honour of this country.”

This is a welcome step by Haryana Govt. Infact, other state govts should take a cue from this. It needs tobe clarified if this rebate is available to Haryana subjects only or to everybody.

This is a fine gesture.
It remains to be seen, however, whether the benefit applies to all service personnel or only those domiciled in the state of Haryana.

As per policy, medical documents of individual cannot be asked for under RTI act. it can be denied under section 8 (e) to (j) by the organisation. If required, it can be given only under the instructions of CIC or court... Is this stand correct?

@Anony

This is totally illegal. Only the medical documents of another person can be refused under the RTI Act. If you are seeking your own medical board proceedings or other related documents, then refusing them is a direct infringement of the RTI Act and is a condemnable action to say the least.

dear sir,

i am a Naval officer and presently posted at Mumbai. I came to know that haryana Govt has given 1% discount on stamp duty to defence personnel. I have a flat at Faridabad and I have to do the conveyance deed of the same within a week's time. When I approached the local registrar office, they said that they don't have notification of haryana govt regarding 1% discount to defence personnel in stamp duty. Sir, I would be grateful, if a copy can be forwarded to my email id sudesharma64@gmail.com.regards
