The QMG’s branch has issued instructions to all Commands that handicapped veterans would be granted priority while purchasing items from Canteens.
Handicapped veterans would also be allowed the help of an attendant inside the canteen premises.
A welcome gesture for the disabled.

YES YOU ARE TRUE WATCHDOG. BUT IN FORCES ORDERS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN COURTECY DEMAMDS. EVEN IN OUR CIVIL SOCIETY MANY OF US DONT DO THIS FOR OUR SELFISHNESS
Not only handicapped veterans but also senior citizens[above 80 yeras] are getting priority in all Canteens.They are also allowed to take another person with them for assisting them.This is already happening.Even in ECHS clinics they get priority.
good news sir. But our veteran brothers are not that serious about the Handicapped veterans. Let us hope that this instruction take the real shape.

NO WOUNDER ! PEOPLE AT LEAST START THINKING ON SOMETHING POSSITIVE, WHICH OTHER WISE SHOULD COME FROM WITHIN.

You are telling of curtsy in Canteen? Never heard of. One can see the meanest treatment of veterans in Canteen. But for the attraction of licquor no one will go to a canteen.The general attitud of the canteen is that they are doing some highest favour to veterans. I have seen how badly very old veterans and handicapped soldiers are made to carry on their head their licquor quota and walk nearly 1 KM to catch an auto riksha. The ....Station Comdr gaining lakhs of rupees by way of canteen profit never care to employ a small treuck to shuttle them from canteen to bus stand on payment nor allow the autorikshas to come near the canteen.
Though such canteens will never bother these orders, such orders are welcome.
Some part of Canteen profits should be utilised for the comfort of the customers.
Staff need to be customer friendly.
Some boys may be employed to help customers carry the trolleys / baskets upto their vehicles and bring back the trolleys / baskets.
Dedicated counters may be provided for veterans , elderly ESM , single females etc.
This way, we shall help generate some employment and also improve the services/satisfaction .
In the year of disabled ESM, wonder why no agency is bothered to keep any check on PDAs ; even for implementation of the MOD orders dt 15-2-11 regarding casualty pensionary awards for cases of death & disability for service prior to 1-1-06.
Most banks have not paid the dues to
the beneficiaries so far.
In my case, SBI-CPPC-Bhopal(MP) is yet to implement the orders and pay my dues.
My friend also did not get his payment from PNB at Bhopal
Broadbanding /rounding off percentage of disability pension to 50%,75% and 100% .
Any one ,any knowledge about the likelyhood of orders being issued for ESM by the worthy deptt of ESM welfare ,MOD in line with the verdict of SC on 01-4-11 posted on this blog .
