Judgement by the Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court on the functioning of the Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT)

Links to press-reports on the landmark decision of the High Court related to the functioning and independence of the AFT, in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by me, as published by various newspapers, are provided below.

I thank everyone for wholeheartedly supporting me in this uphill, and actually continuing, task.

Thanks.

  1. A gerat achievement. You deserve all the encomiums for this signal service. Having the AFt funcioning under the MOD was something like asking the PERTERATOR to be the PRESIDER!

  5. CONGRATS Maj Navdeep. Hope now all AFT orders will be followed, case in point is DACP Final Hearing on 18 Jan 2013. Happy new year all. It would have been so nice had Maj Navdeep fought our case for RANK PAY, so that WEF is not changed to AS ON.

  13. Dear Major Navdeep ji

You have taken birth as a God gift in this country to help most disadvantaged / neglected / despised group of personnel. May the God bless you with good heath, vigour, fame and the best of luck. I am yet to hear about a person doing so much for this category with so much dedication.

    You are great !!!

  14. Your clarity of ideas and the will and determination to follow them up is unmatched by any of the befuddled and career seeking senior officers in the Armed Forces.

Why this issue couldn't be raised by The COSC is only too apparent.

    Thanks Navdeep.

  16. Congrats and well done. I am proud to be associated with a person like you. You have done various commendable jobs earlier also, but this one is like breaking the back bone of of these Babus. Now their anti-soldier activities will be monitored by another ministry as well. Lets hope that something positive will emerge for the benefit of we Veterans now on.

Dear Maj Navdeep, you deserve a salute of not only from veterans but from the serving soldiers also. A firm and a sure step will bring succor to the handicapped part of the society. The soldier/airman/sailor,who are barred by the law not to give their views/feelings,their welfare dept in MOD has not manned by soldiers but by typical 'Babu', who has no love lost for the person who sheds blood for the integrity and independence of this country.Hope this should bring a whiff of fresh air in our cases in AFT/ Courts.Hope some ESM org will try to bring to book Mr Antony and the Defence Secretary, for misleading the Parliament on pending number of actionable judgements. Well done Navdeep please carry on, we are with you.

  30. My dear Maj Navdeep,

Heartiest congratulations for securing the favourable judgment that would remove, hopefully soon, the AFTs out of the claws of the MoD.
But,I can not resist the temptation to imagine that even as I write this, some Babu may be furiosly slogging away to file an appeal agaisnt the judgment. But I am confident that you are more than a match for those guys. May God be with you.
And, wish you a Happy New Year.

  36. really greatful to learn more and new perspectives in my service .most preferal conclusion for reducing the disparity from other officers that , our enrolment on the basis of ssb and 4yr bsc nsg with internship resolves the problem.another point is if all are agreed with our competence in work , why they hasitate to give equal rights in all reforms .in every situation and every point of time we are the ones who never refused to work , to serve our nation then why and from where all ds comes
